Uisce Éireann launches new Advanced Water Stewardship Programme for Trade Effluent Customers

Uisce Éireann, in partnership with Water Stewardship Ireland and the Sustainable Enterprise Skillnet, is proud to launch a new Advanced Water Stewardship Programme, now open to all trade effluent business customers. This fully funded training initiative is designed to support businesses in addressing trade effluent and water quality challenges, while also helping them prepare for upcoming regulatory changes and develop strategies to manage trade effluent charges effectively.

With water quality and sustainability becoming increasingly vital in today’s regulatory and operational landscape, this new programme offers direct, site-focused support. It empowers businesses to take proactive measures that protect water quality, lower operational costs, and enhance sustainability credentials.
Programme Benefits include:

The programme is delivered through a series of expert-led workshops:

1. Introduction & Context
2. Trade Effluent: Understanding the Impacts
3. Mapping: Water Balance & Drainage Mapping
4. Identifying Solutions
5. Peer-to-Peer Presentations & Feedback

All participants will also create a Water Charter for their site – a tailored plan that identifies key risks and solutions, maps drainage and water use, and supports reduction, reuse, and restoration of water on site.

This programme is ideally suited to professionals responsible for water management in facilities that produce trade effluent. It builds both individual and organisational capability, with immediate benefits at site level.

The Sustainable Enterprise Skillnet is co-funded by Skillnet Ireland and network companies. Skillnet Ireland is funded from the National Training Fund through the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science.
