Crews mobilised to restore supply for customers in Bohanboy and Mullingar, Donegal
Alternative water supply in Bohanboy
Uisce Éireann is working with Donegal County Council to restore water as quickly as possible to all impacted customers following increased water demand in Bohanboy and Mullingar. Whilst every effort is being made to maintain supply to as many customers as possible the increase in demand is impacting the water supply in Bohanboy, Mullingar and surrounding areas.
Alternative water supply
An alternative water supply in the form of a bulk tanker will be located in Callaghan's in Bohanboy, Killygordon from 2:30pm this afternoon. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil and cool the water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
Seamus O'Brien, Uisce Éireann, commented: "Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience this outage may cause. We are appealing to the public in Bohanboy, Mullingar and surrounding areas to be mindful of how they use their water at home, as the temperature is set to soar this weekend. We are appealing to customers to help conserve water by not running taps needlessly, taking showers instead of baths and to postpone using dishwashers and washing machines where possible. Further information on water conservation is available on our website at www.water.ie/conserve."
