Water supply returning to customers in the Cooley Peninsula and surrounding areas
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.
Uisce Éireann crews have restored normal operations in Carlingford Borehole Water Treatment Plant following a power supply issue, and water supply is returning to affected customers as the reservoir replenishes.
Water supply has been impacted to homes and businesses in Cooley, Rath North, Rath South, Greenore, Lordship, Omeath, Jenkinstown, Grange, Carlingford and surrounding areas. Customers will have their water restored at different stages throughout the evening and overnight as the reservoir recovers. Customers on higher ground or at the end of the network may not see water supply returned until tomorrow morning.
Alternative water supplies are available at the car park of Cooley Kickams GFC, and at the car park of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Boher.
James O’Hagan, Uisce Éireann Water Network Operations Manager, thanked affected customers for their cooperation: “Uisce Éireann acknowledges the disruption that can be caused by an unplanned outage and we wish to thank customers in the area for their patience as the reservoir continues to replenish to normal levels.
James continued: “Customers may experience reduced water pressure over the coming days as supply catches up with demand.”
