Crews working to restore water in Portumna
Work is on-going to resolve a network issue and restore water as quickly as possible
Repair crews are on site in Portumna this evening working to restore water to homes outside the town.
Uisce Éireann and Galway County Council are working to resolve a network issue and restore water as quickly as possible to customers along the N65, north of Portumna, as far as Cooldorragh and Woodpark.
Uisce Éireann is also organising an alternative supply of water for the affected customers in this area and they will be informed of the location of the supply once it's in place.
Ronan Daly, Operations Lead with Uisce Éireann, said: "Dedicated crews are on site and repairs are underway.
"We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate your patience as we work to return the water supply to homes as quickly as possible."
Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.
The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries. For updates on the area please visit our Water Supply Updates section.
