Essential night-time outage required in Trim
Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Meath County Council, advise customers in Trim that an essential night-time restriction are required tonight to help Brayhill reservoir levels recover. These restrictions are necessary following mechanical issues at Trim Water Treatment Plant which are causing production capacity issues. Works are ongoing to resolve the mechanical issue which is impacting one treatment stream. Other treatment streams are working effectively however the production capacity has been reduced.
To help reservoir levels recover and maintain a sufficient water supply to homes and businesses during normal working hours, water supply will be turned off from 10pm tonight, Monday 8 November, until 5am tomorrow morning, Tuesday 9 November.
When water is turned back on it may take up to 2 hours for supply to be fully restored to all areas but it is important to continue to follow the HSE guidance on hand-washing.
Speaking about the restrictions, Michael Cunniffe, Uisce Éireann said, "Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience these restrictions may cause. The night-time restrictions are necessary to ensure a daily water supply is available for residents and businesses for hygiene and other essential purposes. We are continuing to work to resolve the issues at the plant so that the plant can operate at full production capacity. We will continue to provide updates as the works progress."
Uisce Éireann is working at this time, with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services.
