Essential night-time restrictions in Trim
Restriction is required to help Brayhill reservoir levels recover as levels are low
Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Meath County Council, advise customers in Trim that an essential night-time restriction is required tonight, Friday 5 November, to help Brayhill reservoir levels recover. This restriction is necessary following mechanical issues at Trim Water Treatment Plant which are causing production capacity issues. Works are underway to improve plant production capacity.
To help reservoir levels recover and maintain a sufficient water supply to homes and businesses during normal working hours, water supply will be turned off from 10:00pm tonight, Friday 5 November, until 5:00am tomorrow morning, Saturday 6 November.
When water is turned back on it may take up to 2 hours for supply to be fully restored to all areas but it is important to continue to follow the HSE guidance on hand-washing.
Speaking about the restriction, Michael Cunniffe, Uisce Éireann said, "Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience this restriction may cause. This night-time restriction is necessary to ensure a daily water supply is available for residents and businesses for hygiene and other essential purposes. We are continuing to work to minimise any further disruptions and continually monitor the performance of the water network and undertake additional works as required to safeguard the local supply."
Uisce Éireann is working at this time, with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services.
