Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.
It can take 2-3 hours after completion for supply to be fully restored
Uisce Éireann is working in partnership with Galway County Council to safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses supplied by Tuam Regional Water Supply Scheme in Co Galway.
Essential water mains rehabilitation works are ongoing and are expected to be completed by 10pm tonight. During the works, customers in Kilconly West, Ballyfruit, Garraun, Logawannia, Annaghdown, Corrandulla and surrounding areas may experience temporary, intermittent low pressure and/or water outages.
Typically, it takes two to three hours following restoration time for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas.
Speaking about the works, Rónan Daly, Uisce Éireann said, "We understand that this type of work can be inconvenient. We are working in partnership with Galway County Council to complete the repair works as quickly as possible.
"Customers may experience some temporary discolouration of water following the works and occasionally issues such as internal airlocks may arise. For advice on clearing discoloration and airlocks, visit the dedicated page here."
Traffic management is in place to facilitate the works. However, local and emergency traffic will be maintained at all times.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
