Essential upgrade works to safeguard supply in Clondalkin and Lucan
Uisce Éireann is working in partnership with South Dublin County Council to safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses in Clondalkin, Lucan and surrounding areas.
Essential valve installation works are scheduled to take place tomorrow, 8 March from 4am until 8pm. While works are underway, customers in North Clondalkin, Neilstown, Liffey Valley, Lucan Village, East Lucan and surrounding areas may experience temporary, intermittent low pressure and/or water outages.
To reduce the impact on customers, crews will reconfigure the network in order to maintain the water supply to as many areas as possible, however, customers located on higher ground and extremities of the network will experience low pressure and outages until these works are completed. Typically it takes two to three hours following restoration time for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas but it is important to continue to follow the HSE guidance on hand-washing.
Speaking about the works, Tselo Tlou, Uisce Éireann said, "Uisce Éireann understands that this type of work can be inconvenient and, working in partnership with South Dublin County Council, we will make every effort to minimise the disruption that these necessary works may cause.
Tselo added: "Customers may experience some temporary discolouration of water following the works and occasionally issues such as internal airlocks may arise. For advice on clearing discoloration and airlocks, visit the Issues during or after an outage section of our website."
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
Uisce Éireann and South Dublin County Council regret any inconvenience caused.
