Essential works due to take place on the Tuam Regional Water Supply Scheme
Uisce Éireann is working in partnership with Galway County Council to carry out essential works to safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses supplied by the Tuam Regional Water Supply Scheme.
While works are underway, customers in the following areas will experience temporary, intermittent low pressure and/or water outages tomorrow, Thursday 24 February from 7pm until 4am on Friday 25 February: Claregalway, Turloughmore, Lackagh, Corrofin and surrounding areas.
Typically it takes two to three hours following restoration time for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas but it is important to continue to follow the HSE guidance on hand-washing.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
Speaking about the works, Ronan Daly, Uisce Éireann said, "Uisce Éireann understands that essential maintenance works can be inconvenient and, working in partnership with our colleagues in Galway County Council, we will make every effort to minimise the disruption that these necessary works may cause."
Ronan added: "Customers may experience some temporary discolouration of water following the works and occasionally issues such as internal airlocks may arise. For advice on clearing discoloration and airlocks, visit the Issues during or after an outage section of our website.
Uisce Éireann and Galway County Council regret any inconvenience caused. The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries. For updates, please visit the Supply and Service Updates section of our website.
