Essential works may cause disruptions to Enfield and surrounding areas
Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Meath County Council, are continuing works to improve security of supply in Enfield. While essential repair works are underway at Enfield water treatment plant customers in Gleniden, Moyfenrath, The Courtyard, Delmear, New Inn, Blackwater Close, Glen Abhainn, Rathdale, Innwood, Coachyard Manor, Newcastle Woods, Enfield Court, Baynefield, Trim Road, Dublin Road, Johnstown Road and surrounding areas may experience low water pressure and/or water outages today, Wednesday 20 October.
Once works are successfully completed, normal water supply will begin to be restored. Full water supply may take 2-3 hours to return as water refills the network but it is important to continue to follow the HSE guidance on hand-washing.
Speaking about the works, Michael Cunniffe, Uisce Éireann said, "Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience these works may cause and thanks customers for their patience while we work to complete them as quickly as possible. These works are essential in helping to improve the security of supply for customers in Enfield. We are continuing to work to minimise any further disruptions and continually monitor the performance of the water network and undertake additional works as required to safeguard the local supply."
Uisce Éireann is working at this time, with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services.
