Essential works underway at Tír an Fhia Water Treatment Plant
Uisce Éireann is working in partnership with Galway County Council to safeguard the water supply for customers in Tír an Fhia and Doiringlass in Co Galway. Essential repair works at Tír an Fhia Water Treatment Plant today (Thursday 16 December) may cause disruptions to water supply including outages and/or lower than normal water pressure until 6pm this evening.
These works are being delivered in adherence with current HSE and government COVID-19 advice. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an outage.
Ronan Daly, Uisce Éireann, commented: "The essential repair works at the water treatment plant are being conducted as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise disruption to the area and restore water for all customers. We understand the inconvenience outages can have on customers and we appreciate your patience as we work to return the water supply to homes and businesses as quickly as possible."
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience when an outage occurs and thanks customers for their patience while we work to restore normal supply to impacted customers.
