Repairs completed on burst impacting customers in Drogheda Town and surrounding areas
Uisce Éireann working in partnership with Louth County Council have successfully repaired a burst in a water main supplying homes and businesses north of Drogheda town and surrounding areas. Dedicated water services crews worked throughout the evening and the repair was completed by 10pm.
Water refilled the network overnight and normal supply has now restored to most customers. Some customers in Ballymakenny Road and those located on higher ground and extremities of the network may continue to experience temporary low pressure and outages as water refills those parts of the network.
Michael Cunniffe, Uisce Éireann, commented: "The repairs were conducted as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise disruption to the area and restore water for all customers. We understand the inconvenience unplanned disruptions can have on customers and we appreciate your patience as we worked to repair the burst and return the water supply to homes and businesses as quickly as possible."
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
