Replacement of ageing water mains to take place in Cabra
Uisce Éireann working in partnership with Dublin City Council is replacing an aged watermain on Drumcliffe road, Cabra in order to safeguard the water supply and increase water pressure to homes and businesses in the area. These essential works are being delivered in adherence with current HSE and government COVID-19 advice.
The works involving the replacement of old cast iron watermains with a new watermain are being delivered by GMC Utilities on behalf of Uisce Éireann. In order to facilitate the safe delivery of these works a traffic management plan will be in place.
Uisce Éireann and Dublin City Council will make every effort to maintain normal supply, however properties on Drumcliffe Road, Offaly Road, Cabra and surrounding areas in Dublin 7 may experience water shut offs on Wednesday 30 June from 8am to 5pm.
Speaking about the works, Matthew Thomson, Uisce Éireann said, "We understand that this type of work can be inconvenient and working in partnership with Dublin City Council we will make every effort to minimise any disruption that these necessary works may cause. The delivery of these essential works will help to safeguard the water supply to homes and businesses in Cabra and surrounding areas ensuring a safer mores sustainable water supply."
Uisce Éireann is working at this time, with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services.
