Significant improvements to supply as works begin in Tramore
Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Waterford City and County Council, is constructing new water mains in Tramore, to support the economic and social development of the area.
Approximately 700m of new mains will be constructed. The section of works will take place on the Monvoy Road, approximately 50m north of the Monvoy roundabout, and continue on the Ring road to the Racecourse roundabout.
The works will be carried out by Shareridge Ltd., on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
Speaking about the works, Uisce Éireann's Joe Carroll said; "We are pleased to be working in Tramore to improve the water supply network in the town. These are an important part of the ongoing improvement works that Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Waterford City and County Council, are carrying out in a town that is developing and growing in the past number of years.
"Areas of work will be limited to short sections to minimise impact on customers. Traffic management may be in place during this time, however works are being undertaken in the roadside verge. Pedestrian access may be limited to one side of the road. Local and emergency traffic will always be maintained.
"The works may involve some short-term water interruptions and the project team will ensure that customers are given a minimum of 48 hours' notice prior to any planned water interruptions.
I'd like to thank the community for their patience and cooperation as we carry out these works to improve the town's water supply."
