Vital water network upgrade completed in Milltown and Dundrum
Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, has completed a significant project to upgrade and improve the water network in Milltown and Dundrum. The delivery of this important project will support growth and development by increasing the capacity of the existing water network, improving performance and providing a more resilient water supply for a growing population.
The project, delivered as part of Uisce Éireann's national Growth and Development programme, involved the replacement of 720m of water mains along the Dundrum Road to improve the capacity of the existing water network. It is one of a number of projects that Uisce Éireann has undertaken to support and enable housing and economic growth in Dublin and the Greater Dublin Area (GDA).
Uisce Éireann Programme Manager, Padraig Hanly, explained: "Uisce Éireann is committed to enabling communities across Dublin to thrive by continuously upgrading and developing our critical water and wastewater infrastructure and supporting sustainable growth and development. We are delighted to mark the completion of this essential project to increase the capacity of the water network and enable future growth and development."
Padraig continued: "We would like to thank the community along Dundrum Road and surrounding areas for their continued support and cooperation during construction works."
