Water supply returning to customers on Fethard Regional Water Supply Scheme

Repair works have been completed following a burst watermain on the Fethard Regional Supply Scheme impacting customers in Poynstown, Ballysloe, Boilick Crabb, Gortnahoe, Glengoole North/South and New Birmingham.
Works were completed at 5pm today and Uisce Éireann recommends that customers allow two to three hours for normal supply to return to homes and businesses.
Colin Cunningham, Operations Lead for Uisce Éireann thanked customers for their patience while crews carried out repair works. “We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while our crews worked to ensure that a normal water supply is returned to all of our customers as soon as possible.”

Crews working to restore water to Fethard Regional Water Supply customers
Uisce Éireann crews are working to restore water to customers supplied to the Fethard Regional Water Supply scheme, due to a burst which took place this afternoon.
Customers from Poynstown, Ballysloe, Boilick Crabb, Gortnahoe, Glengoole North/South and New Birmingham are experiencing a disruption to their water supply due to the burst and every effort is being made to return a normal supply as quickly as possible.
Due to a number of bursts in recent days reservoir levels are low and customers are experiencing low pressure.
Alternative water supplies are being deployed and will be available from 16.00 today at the Community Centre New Birmingham, Hogans carpark Ballysloe, and the Community Centre Gortnahoe.
Repairs are scheduled to be completed by tomorrow afternoon, 23rd August with water expected to return to customer by 16.00 on the 23rd August.
Uisce Éireann’s Colin Cunningham assured customers that every effort is being made to restore water as quickly as possible.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
