We're working to restore supply in Lismore

Uisce Éireann crews are actively working to restore the water supply to affected customers after a pump failure at the the Lismore Water Treatment Plant. This interruption has lead to water supply issues in Lismore, Tallow Road, Glencairn Road, Ballinaspick, and surrounding areas.

Every effort is being made to minimise the impact on homes and businesses. However, the repair work is complex and is taking longer than expected; it is anticipated to be completed later this evening.

Maura Phelan, Uisce Éireann Water Operations Manager, said: “We understand the inconvenience caused by an unplanned outage like this, and we are working diligently to repair it as quickly as possible. We appreciate the community's understanding during this time.”

Alternative water supply

To support the local community, Uisce Éireann has made an alternative water supply available at Bunscoil Bhóthar na Naomh, which will be in place until 10 am, on Saturday, February 15. 

Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.

After an interruption to supply, normal water supply can take several hours to return to all customers, particularly for those on higher ground or at the farthest reaches of the network; it can take longer.

Vulnerable customers registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
