Areas affected include Baltimore, Sherkin Island, Heir Island, Derryconnell and Schull
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Water supply is returning for customers in Baltimore, Sherkin Island, Heir Island, Derryconnell, Schull and surrounding areas following the impact of the Met Éireann status orange weather warning.
As the network refills and supplies return throughout the night and tomorrow, customers in the impacted areas may experience intermittent disruption or low water pressure until tomorrow afternoon, Tuesday 07 January. Properties on high ground may experience short delays in water supply being fully restored.
Alternative water supplies are being arranged and will become available, tomorrow morning, Tuesday 07 January, in the form of bulk tankers, which can be accessed at Schull Garda Station.
Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
We are also appealing to customers to check for leaks in the home and carry out necessary leak repairs and asking farmers to check their service pipes, drinking troughs and outbuildings. Customers are urged to report loss of service or visible leaks to assist Uisce Éireann to identify bursts.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
