Works underway to restore supply to customers customers supplied by the Dundrum Water Treatment Plant
Uisce Éireann and Tipperary County Council have completed repair works to a burst watermain at the Dundrum water treatment plant and the plant is back producing water to its full capacity since late yesterday evening.
The supply will already have returned to some areas, supply will be restored to other areas throughout the day. Some customers at higher elevations on the scheme may not have their supply restored until late this evening. While reservoirs refill on the scheme, customers will experience reduced pressure over the next day or so.
The water tankers that are in place at the three main primary schools in Clonoulty, Rossmore and Boherlahan will remain in place until the supply is fully restored to all customers.
Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure. Please adhere to social distancing when queuing for water supplies.
Colin Cunningham, Uisce Éireann, commented: "The repairs were conducted as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise disruption to the area. Our colleagues in Tipperary County Council worked tirelessly throughout the night to ensure the treatment plant kept operating correctly, and to its maximum capacity.
Hopefully, by the end of today, the vast majority of customers' water supply will have returned. We understand the inconvenience bursts can have on customers and we appreciate your patience throughout."
