Uisce Éireann is working to repair a technical issue at the Ardfinnan Water Treatment Plant, which occurred overnight and have resulted in reservoir levels depleting to low levels.
As a result, the following areas will experience low water pressure until 6pm this evening: Goatenbridge, Ardfinnan, Newcastle, Graigue GWS, Grange, Knocklofty, Barne, Marifield, Rathkeevin, Newchapel, Loughloher, Cranna, Kilcommon, Ballyea, Magherareagh, Castlegrace, and the surrounding areas.
Speaking about the unplanned outage, Colin Cunningham, Water Operations Lead for Uisce Éireann, said: “Unfortunately, an issue at the treatment plant has depleted water supplies at the reservoir. We regret any inconvenience caused by this issue and thank the local community for their patience while we complete the repairs.”
