Works underway to restore water supply to customers in Enfield
Uisce Éireann is working in partnership with Meath County Council to carry out urgent works to restore water supply following a shut down at the water treatment plant in order to protect public health following an issue with the UV system. Crews are working to restore supply as quickly and as safely as possible in adherence with current HSE and government COVID-19 advice.
Customers in Posseckstown, Johnstown, Gleniden, Moyfenrath, The Courtyard, Delmear, New Inn, Blackwater Close, Glen Abhainn, Rathdale, Innwood, Coachyard Manor, Newcastle Woods, Enfield Court, Delmear, Baynefield, Trim Road, Dublin Road, Johnstown Road and surrounding areas will experience low water pressure and/or water outages today, Tuesday 5 October, while the works are underway. Works are scheduled to be completed by 1pm this afternoon.
Once works are successfully completed, normal water supply will begin to be restored. Full water supply may take 2-3 hours to return as water refills the network but it is important to continue to follow the HSE guidance on hand-washing.
Speaking about the works, Michael Cunniffe, Uisce Éireann said, "Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience caused when disruptions occur and thanks customers for their patience while we work to restore the supply for customers in Enfield. The shutdown was necessary to protect public health and we continue to work closely with Meath County Council to resolve the issue as quickly and as safely as possible."
Uisce Éireann is working at this time, with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services.
