Works underway to restore water supply to Glenamaddy customers
Uisce Éireann has identified a burst to a water main in Glenamaddy and is working with Galway County Council to restore water as quickly as possible to impacted customers. Whilst every effort is being made to maintain supply to as many customers as possible, the burst is impacting the water supply to customers in Glenamaddy, Kiltullagh and the area served by Kilmascahill Group Water Scheme.
Dedicated water service crews have mobilised and repairs are underway and are expected to be completed by 3pm this afternoon. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.
To ensure the safety of the public and crews carrying out the repairs to the burst, traffic management is currently in place. Local and emergency access will be maintained.
Ronan Daly, Uisce Éireann, commented: "The repairs are being conducted as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise disruption to the area. Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience caused when bursts occur and thanks customers in advance for their patience while we continue with these repairs and work to restore normal water supply to impacted customers."
