Works underway to restore supply to Tubbercurry customers
Uisce Éireann has identified a burst on the trunk water main from the Lough Talt Water Treatment Plant to Tubbercurry and is working with Sligo County Council to restore water as quickly as possible to impacted customers. Whilst every effort is being made to maintain supply to as many customers as possible, the burst will likely impact the water supply to customers in Cloonacool, Aclare, Kilmacteige, Annagh, Banada, Curry, Bellaghy, Moylough and parts of Tubbercurry supplied directly from the Lough Talt water Treatment Plant.
Dedicated water service crews have mobilised and repairs are underway and are expected to be completed by 8pm this evening. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.
To ensure the safety of the public and crews carrying out the repairs to the burst, traffic management is currently in place. Local and emergency access will be maintained.
Kevin Love, Uisce Éireann, commented: "The repairs are being conducted as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise disruption to the area. Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience caused when bursts occur and thanks customers in advance for their patience while we continue with these repairs and work to restore normal water supply to impacted customers."
