Castlemaine Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade

Wastewater Project

Works to construct new wastewater infrastructure have been completed which will improve water quality and facilitate future growth of the area.

The wastewater infrastructure in Castlemaine was outdated no longer suitable to meet the needs of the area, with wastewater treated via a septic tank system prior to discharge to the River Maine. In early 2019, Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Kerry County Council, commenced work on the upgrades to the Castlemaine Sewerage Scheme.

This project is being delivered by Glan Agua Ltd on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
