Drogheda Wastewater Improvement Project
Uisce Éireann Growth and Development Programme
Uisce Éireann, in partnership with Louth County Council is upgrading the wastewater network at Greenhills, Drogheda, Co. Louth to support social and economic growth.
The works involve the installation of almost 250 meters of new sewerage pipes and is part of a project to improve the capacity of the existing sewers and operational performance in the area.
These works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann's Growth and Development Programme and are planned to commence in February 2023. These works will involve the replacement and upgrading of the existing sewer network, beginning at Greenhill Villas and terminating at North Strand south of the junction between the Drogheda Road, R167 and the Greenhills R899.
This project is being delivered to support existing and future developments within the community. It will improve the capacity of the existing wastewater network in the area, improving performance and reducing demands on the current network.
The works will be carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by GMC Utilities Ltd. and are expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

Will customers be affected by the works?
To deliver these works efficiently and safely traffic management measures, granted by Louth County Council will be in place for the duration of the works.
A single lane closure will be in place from the junction of the L2307/R899, Greenhills/Newtown Road, to the junction of R899/R167, Greenhills/Drogheda Road.
A road closure will be in place from Greenhill Villas to the junction of the L2307/R899 (Greenhills and Newtown Road). The road closure will be in place Q2/Q3 2023.
Traffic flows will be diverted during this time with local access and emergency services maintained at all times.
We understand that this type of work can be inconvenient and works crews will make every effort to minimise any disruption these necessary works may cause. Standard working hours are between 8am and 7pm Monday - Friday, and Saturday 8am-5pm (if required) with no work anticipated on Sundays or public holidays.
