South Drogheda Wastewater Network Reinforcement
Uisce Éireann Growth and Development Programme
Uisce Éireann has upgraded the wastewater network at The Dale, Drogheda, to support future growth and development in the area.
This project was delivered as part of Uisce Éireann's national Growth and Development programme. The works involved the installation of 500m of new sewerage pipes to improve the capacity and operational performance of the sewer network in the South Drogheda area.
This project was delivered to support existing and future developments within the community. It will improve the capacity of the existing wastewater network in the area, improving performance, reducing demands on the current network and mitigating the risk of sewer flooding within the catchment.
The works were completed in December 2024 and carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by GMC Utilities Group.

The benefits of these wastewater network works include:
- Supporting social and economic development - This project will facilitate social and economic growth, including planned residential development.
- Upgrading the wastewater network to facilitate future demand - This project will ensure the required capacity of the wastewater infrastructure to support future development in the area.
- Reducing the risk of sewer overflow - This project will improve the capacity of the existing sewers, improving performance and reducing the risk of sewer flooding in the area.
