What’s happening now
Uisce Éireann is actively rolling out new ways of working that will transform how we deliver water services across the country. By standardising processes and adopting best practices nationwide, we are creating a more consistent, efficient, and effective approach to our work. These improvements will not only streamline operations and enhance service delivery but will also provide greater clarity and support for our teams, ensuring a safer and more structured working environment. As these changes take root, staff will benefit from improved resources, training, and career development opportunities, while communities will experience a more reliable and high-quality water and customer service. This transformation is a key step towards building a stronger, more unified Uisce Éireann - One that empowers its people and serves the public with excellence.
Upcoming Events
Over the coming months, the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme team will be out and about meeting staff across the country to provide updates on our transformation journey - What’s happening now and what’s planned for the rest of the Framework period. These sessions will give staff a clear picture of the new national structure for Asset Operations and what it means for their local water services area. Colleagues will also gain insight into the New Ways of Working we are proposing, and learn when training will be available. Colleagues will also have the opportunity to ask questions. For those considering a move to Uisce Éireann, these engagements will offer a chance to begin the transfer process and take the next step in their career within our growing, national organisation.

What to expect in your HR One to One meeting
Please find our updated FAQ Booklet based on questions asked by Local Authority Water Services staff members at our first round of in person briefings.

The Pipeline
Welcome to The Pipeline, our new dedicated newsletter for Water Services Staff. In this second edition of our newsletter, you’ll find our recent interview with Caroline O’Kane who previously worked in Limerick City and County Council, and her thoughts on how Uisce Éireann can continue building on the great legacy of the Local Authorities, delivering water services, and working for the communities of Ireland. If there is something you would like to read about in the next edition of “the pipeline”, please contact your local line management or email LAStaffqueries@water.ie directly.
How the HR One to One meeting will work
These meetings are being held locally and virtually via Zoom in each Local Authority area. Once you submit your Request for Information, we send you an email requesting you to compile your Details of Employment with the Local Authority, i.e. your current salary, grade, overtime, allowances, and all existing agreements in place with your employer. Only information provided by you will be used for the discussion.
We will be able to provide a comparison between the Uisce Éireann pay model and the mirrored LA pay model based on the information you supply. An Uisce Éireann HR representative will then go through all your information with you and confirm the guarantees in relation to your existing terms and conditions, as well as answer any individual questions you may have in relation to transferring to Uisce Éireann.
Following on from this meeting, you can confirm your intention to transfer to Uisce Éireann and we will follow up with formal contract information. You can also decide not to join at this time and consider all your options further before deciding to transfer later. All staff in water services will have the option to join Uisce Éireann up to the end of 2026.
